The Man in the Iron Mask: Handsome retelling of the reliable Alexander Dumas story of a guy unreasonably imprisoned and encased in an iron mask-since his extremely presence bullies the reigning baron of France, the youthful, self-centered Louis XIV. The destiny of both are eventually in the hands of the aging although still enthusiastic Musketeers. It could be difficult to miss with that cast; the film is relatively enjoyable, however it does go on too long. Cast includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Jeremy Irons, John Malkovich, Gerard Depardieu, Peter Sarsgaard, and Hugh Laurie. (132 minutes, 1998)

Could golf be over as we know it?

In the last few years the gaming industry has grown immensly and it seems the problem with a lot of sports like golf and tennis is that you only watch them if you actually play the game. So how close are the games to the real thing? If you are trying to lose weight, does playing on a games console instead of playing the real thing really help? The most simple way to put it is . . . perhaps.  Obviously if you are buying say a golf game for the 360 or PS3 it is not going to do anything apart from save you money on one of those electric golf trolleys.

A big problem is that if you were to purchase a golf game on the wii the only part of the sport you are going to miss out on is the walking part. A lot of the pro's in golf do not bother to even walk the course as it is so how much are you really missing out on. Game devlopers are always looking to improve the games they are making and this has become more of a competition than anything and the Wii is taking advantage of this by using its powerful motion sensing technlogy. When playing sports games that use your hands like golf and tennis it actually feels like you are playing the real thing which I have to admit is fantastic. The new attachment for the Nintendo Wii which is due out later thi year means motion sensing technology is going to advance even further. This means game developers will certainly be more inclined to make the games for the Wii even more realistic than before. Is this really having any affect at all? Well it sure is for the people who can’t afford to go out and pay fees at their local golf course. Everytime you wish to play golf all you have to do is walk to the console and switch it on.

While toys, CDs, DVDs and books have a somewhat limited amount of use in many cases, games can be just the ticket for nights in for years after originally being given as gifts. As well as all of the old classics there are countless new titles added to the market all the time, and there really is a game out there for every man, woman and child to enjoy.

Games are an excellent way to get the family playing together at Christmas time, and after Christmas is over, there is still much to be enjoyed whenever free time needs to be filled. There are games out there for one, for two, or for groups of players to enjoy. They aren’t just fun; they can be educational and also help with socializing when played as part of a group.

In golf, the same applies, you need to believe in yourself, believe you can master the game and compete with the best of the best. If you believe it you can achieve it.
